Has Khan's trainer Virgil Hunter gave his thoughts on the Canelo fight yet?

I don't take Virgil as a guy who would necessarily condone Amir to take that fight, but then again it's his job to train him and that's it. He really has no say in the negotiations, and Khan isn't really one to be talked out of something that he's determined to do.

I have a feeling that Virgil will boot Khan out of his gym after the fight though.

Virgil is too smooth an operator to be negative about it before the fight but you can bet he's pissed that Kahn just put him in the role of Sisyphus.

If you saw the same interview as I did he basically said. . .

Khan needs to stay out of fighting in the pocket, not get trapped on the ropes, and also not to tie Canelo up.

So basically he's going to be resorted to sticking and moving, and probably throwing very short combinations. . . Will this work for 12 rounds though??

No, not for a guy like Khan.

Not tying him up? That's gonna end up badly. He probably meant absolutely no engaging him on the inside, but he will need to tie him up from time to time.

Well no, he specifically used that term. Khan has no inside game and ties people up when they get close. It works for guys his own size, but for someone who could potentially out weight him 15lbs + on fight night he's gonna get out-muscled.
