Given how inactive he's been, and the fact that's with RN, Ward needs to stop being pissy with everyone and actually chalk up some W's.

Where's he going to fight if he burns his bridges with HBO?

What do you think is the holdup for Ward Barrera?
Ward probably needs a tune up for a tune up

Maybe dumbass Ward shouldn't have gone on the Fight Game on HBO and said that he wasn't really injured in November lol

Just another bonehead move added to the long list of bonehead moves Ward has made in his career.

I think there's a reason Jay-Z pretty much ignores his boxing business, all of his fighters are primadonnas who keep making negative press.

We all know how dificult is Ward to deal with... Ala Cotto

Plus you have HBO telling him that the november date was his fault and now they only want 1 tune up and then kova.

To me its fair for SOG to have March-July_December

And you have a good and active year

Ward has been ****ing HBO around since day one with all the lame uber mismatches his team was proposing with SMWs. Then all the fights have to be in Oakland which HBO doesn't want because they can get bigger exposure at other venues.

All they want is Ward-Kovalev, they don't care about these damn tuneup matches. Ward came out with that injury excuse at the last minute after stringing HBO along for months. They are pretty much done with him at this point because they don't believe he has any intention of even fighting Kovalev.

In HBO's eyes, each fight won is a step closer to Kovalev. Precisely why Ward wants as few fights as he can possibly have, HBO knows this but don't want to play that dumb game.

Yea I'd agree thats effed up, although I suppose it depends on whats in the contract. If there is a stipulation a tune up fight must take place within a certain period of time than I'd say HBO is right. I mean HBO definitely shows some subpar tune up/showcase type fights, but I don't think those type of fights are HBO's goal. They wanna show good fights not a bunch of tuneup/showcases so I could see them throwing something in the contract like that to not give an indefinite tuneup fight time period for a guy who I don't think many feel needs a Alexander Brand type opponent. And if thats the case I don't think Ward has a leg to stand on.

And lets be real I don't believe Ward needs or deserves 2 fights til he gets Kovalev. If he fights Sullivan Barrera next or a legit top ten caliber guy thats a fair opponent to get in with Kovalev next.
