Katsidis was clearly more hurt than Cotto at the time of their respective stoppages. Cotto most likely would have survived the full distance. Katsidis was a few punches away from some serious, possibly career ending, damage.

Bro to be fair though i thought Katsidis was the same against Marquez. He basically gave up any offence and was really unsteady on his feet. If he wasn't hurt during the stoppage I can't say any fighter has really been hurt in a fight.

I can see where you're coming from though. The stoppage wasn't the cause of one huge shot where he went down or anything. He was just getting pummelled the whole round by continuous uppercuts and Bayless just decided to stop it there and then as arbitrary as it may have seemed.
