Who is better P4P: Canelo or Povetkin?

They strike me as very similar caliber fighters except that Canelo has had the benefit of fighting smaller guys most of his career whereas Povetkin is a smaller heavyweight. Discounting that, who is the better fighter?

I think Canelo is much better. My eyes tell me he is better with better skills and a better record. Canelo is on many PFP lists but I have never seen Povetkin on anyone's PFP list. Povetkin is good but I think Canelo is better. Canelo has good wins over high ranked boxers and champion boxers who were just as big as he is. Trout, Lara, Angulo and Kirkland were his same weight and Lara and Trout were taller. Cotto was somewhat smaller but Cotto was the WBC middleweight champion.

Canelo went life and death with so many fighters, lost in embarassing fashion to Mayweather (nothing wrong in losing to Floyd, but he didnt even win a single round, despite being much bigger and younger fighter) that i dont even know how to judge his resume...

Wtf are you talking about. Is this a serious thread????

We're talking about an AVERAGE fighter who does nothing great- he's not a good boxer, yet he doesn't have above average power so he's kind of just a tough guy who likes to fight with no real skills. He's slow, flat footed, etc. Who has went life and death with average fighters like Lara (who went life and death with the corpse of caveman Angulo) and Cotto, and probably someother guys he went life and death with who I can't think of right now.

vs. an olympic gold medalist who's only professional loss is the legend Wlad.

This poll will go the way if the more popular fighter but Povetkin on today is a step above Canelo right now. But I feel Povetkin has reached his ceiling while Canelo has a little bit more growing left.

having a fairly close fight means life and death nowadays does it?
