Comments Thread For: Julian Williams-Marcello Matano IBF Eliminator For Charlo Shot

Unbeaten Julian Williams has been waiting to fight the big names in his weight class. He is likely one step away from that happening.

Williams will fight Marcello Matano on March 5 in a 12 round bout at the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Penn, according to sources who told BoxingScene.com on Thursday afternoon. Williams-Matano will be an elimination bout to face IBF junior middleweight titleholder Jermall Charlo, who appears to be heading to an April defense against Vanes Martirosyan.

I'm extremely frustrated with J-Rock's career right now. Both Tony Harrison & Antoine Douglass are fighting tougher opponents than Julian who's in the main event. I know the Italian guy is higher rated, but Willie Nelson was available & willing to take this fight, and would've pushed Williams the hardest of his career. This sucks, and it also sucks Jermall Charlo essentially ducked J-Rock. Jermall could've fought J-Rock instead of this lame eliminator, his coach Shields even said they wanted J-Rock....

Douglass/Soliman will be fun, looks like Antoine will be putting himself into position as Golovkin's IBF mandatory for next year.

I'm taking Harrison to stop Guerrero. Fernando looks shot and doesn't take a punch at all.
