Comments Thread For: Inoue, Carmona Agree To Terms For Mandatory Title Fight

Terms have been reached for a mandatory title fight between defending super flyweight champ Nayoa “Monster” Inoue and top-rated challenger David Carmona, BoxingScene.com has learned.

The two camps were granted an extension beyond the initial 10-day period imposed by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) in confidence that a deal could be reached. They were able to do just that, thus avoid the fight going to a purse bid.

“They have reached an agreement,” WBO President Francisco ‘Paco’ Valcarcel. “The fight will take place in May.”

I'm a fan of both but that statement is BS. Inoue a 22 year old with 9 fights, recently coming off a year lay off with a mandatory. Roman Gonzalez 44 fights & 28 years old in his prime he needs to be cleaning out fellow titleholders in his division first & expand his HBO fanbase to build the super fight to make it much bigger. Gonzalez is the one who needs to move up to super-fly anyway so why should Inoue"grow some balls" when he's the one waiting for Gonzalez to clean up then move up a division? There's Ruenroeng, Ioka & an Estrada rematch still for Gonzalez to beat yet.

Why is one considered a "boxing hipster" if they want to see Chocolatito vs Inoue?

More like we're knowledgeable fans of the sport who want to see the best fight the best.

I think Inoue will be too much for Gonzales. Simply too big and powerful. I think the fight will materialize late next year or 2017.

There was an article a while ago where Inoue said he didnt want to rush into a gonzalez fight. I kind of agree and disagree i think he can beat chocolatito right now. But since he's had less than 10 fights i guess i see what he means. I think he can learn and pick up a few things too from the gonzalez-estrada fight
