It's pretty obvious that the only reason a fighter demands a CW is because he doesn't have what it takes to win at the sanctioned weight. Therefore, he wants to weaken his opponent by making him starve himself down to an unnatural lower weight. Golovkin relies heavily on his power and ability to take a punch. Why would he compromise that? If he agrees to to a CW and struggles or even loses to Canelo, his career and rep will take a huge hit.
Totally agree with you. I'm just saying. This is the Canelo argument -- that the so-called "A side" should make their own rules. Let's see if it works. It may.

Frank Warren says Liam Smith is in Running for September Fight

Canelo has every intention of ducking GGG this year. Period. He is afraid.

Canelo can't keep fighting at 155 forever. I was under the impression that Canelo was going to fight a MW at 157-158, then GGG at 158-160. But to fight Khan, a WW, at 155 is something that is indefensible. Because of what Canelo did now, choosing Khan at 155, I think he should fight GGG at the full 160. If he doesn't do that, I don't know what fans other than his core fanbase will defend that. As a fan, I will accept 158-160, nothing less. 157lbs would be a stretch, I would be tight, but I would grudgingly watch. 158-160 is what he has to do. Even Cotto the known diva said 159lbs for Martinez.

if u throw one to the head of lara the rest of your puches are a waist bc he's busy getting away from that one...then we have to see if ggg is confident enough to keep up the chase while lara can pick him apart
I hope Lara comes up to 160, no excuses that people would use if they fought before he moved up.

Because Lara isn't that good. People will learn soon enough.

well there will still be question if ggg can move up in weight well, but that is the same with any fighter..just like u feel lara wont be good at 154 some will believe ggg wont be any good at 168

i just saw ggg being a 100 times less powerful body puncher than head puncher unless the target is very easy to hit...i also saw him knock monroe down in the 2nd and throw nothing but head shots for the rest of the round.
wat i got from that is that he is a head hunter that is determined to hit the head bc he is confident in hurting you right away no matter how many times he has missed...monroe had teh best head movment of any opponent and ggg went nuts trying to find it, but lara's is even better

now yes ggg did drop lemule with a body shot, but it was a placed body shot on a target that is very wide and stationary..not one that he had to leap into with his feet similar to canelo going after lara...

this is not a bias this is all tape study...both fighters are excellent fighters btw

The negotiations are going to answer a lot of questions, if they relent then it's about money, if they don't and force Canelo to vacate it was really all about the belts. I wouldn't be shocked at this point to see Canelo try to get his 154lb straps back, not one single bit.

And he'll probably be ranked ahead of EVERY other MW outside of GGG! The division is GARBAGE!!! At least he's makes MOST P4P top #20 lists unlike the Wal-mart workers GGG has fought! Not 1 even makes top #50!!! Fk maybe not even top #100 p4P.

Me either! Way better fighters at 154 anyways.

                  Bradley
                  Charlo twins
                  Andrade

Some WW could make weight pretty easy as well.

                  MW

                  GGG

                  That's IT!

People need to stop all this A side **** , this is a mandatory fight

This is not Fury vs Wlad , Fury must do what Wlad want

The facts are that Golovkin was willing to fight at 168 against Chavez Jr and Froch. But when it came to Andre Ward it had to be at 164 according to Abel Sanchez, otherwise no fight.

So now it's hilarious to see Team GGG get bent out of shape because Canelo is trying to pull the exact same move on them with this 155 stuff.
