FlyBoy, brilliant thread man. Everything originally stated is 100% true and based in actual fact. I've tried to do a similar thread myself before but got banned and thread deleted a few times because so many fighters have actually ducked Khan that I guess it effects a large number of people, a very diverse group of fans, when you highlight these facts.

Pacquiao got KOd by Torrecampo early in his career, primarily because he was extremely weight-drained and had a poor game plan. Same thing happened to Khan - very visibly weight-drained, very poor game plan (a new trainer told him to try to rush and KO Prescott in the first round).

There is a difference however - Torrecampo had a 25% KO ratio at the time he stopped Pacquiao, while Prescott had a 98% KO ratio at the time he stopped Khan.

So I guess you're saying Pac had no excuse to be KOd by that level of opponent either, right.

Amir Khan is the 3rd most popular fighter in Boxing after Mayweather and Pacquiao. Numbers don't lie: Look at his social media following. It's the 3rd highest for a boxer. He brings a unique set of loyal fans:

1. UK (population 65 Million)
2. Pakistan (population 200 Million)
3. Middle East (population 200 Million)

The PPV with Canelo will prove his appeal. It will sell at least 1 Million PPV buys. After the Canelo fight, Khan will cement himself as a PPV Superstar.

Khan had signed the contract on his side for the Mayweather and Pacquiao bouts. Khan put his career on hold, and waited for months for Pacquiao and Mayweather. In the end, Pacquiao and Mayweather picked different opponents (Maidana, Berto, Bradley) for much less money.


3. Danny Garcia (rematch) (his father has said countless times how he doesn't want Danny to face Khan)

4. Juan Manuel Marquez (way back when Khan beat Barrera. Khan offered JMM the fight. JMM rejected it).

Floyd Mayweather ducked Khan on two separate occasions...openly ducked him! on the first occasion he ran a poll for fans to pick his next opponent which Khan won..but instead he picked Maidana. Floyd openly declared on video that khan has a huge fan base and would make a big fight against himself....he then makes a u turn and says Khan is a nobody..and on his last fight when there was no other big name options for him except Khan....who even signed a contract..Floyd refuses to sign his end and chooses to fight Andre Berto instead.

Manny Pacquiao decided against a fight with Khan and chose to fight bradley for a 3rd time as his last fight. This despite the fact that everything was agreed and it would be a much bigger fight.

Timothy Bradley openly avoided Khan, Danny Garcia's camp have repeated over n over again no rematch. Broner refused Khan. He has been avoided by many top level fighters and it's obvious.

Khan has the worse chin. By far. That was one helluva shot that put Pacs lights out, by contrast, it seems like every half decent punch landed on Khan has his legs going weak.

Props go to Canelo for daring to be great by taking on Amir "Mexicutioner" Khan who has walked through 3 fighters from his great warrior nation of Mexico, so naturally you might have nerves going in questioning "Am I the next one?", so it all comes down to the how Canelo feels mentally on fight night.
