Again, in terms oft he draw argument ,refer to what I had to say before, saying JOnes is a bigger draw than Hopkins doesn't mean much, since boxing's biggest draws at the time were Holyfield, Tyson, Lewis, Tito and Oscar. Jones wasn't a draw beyond the boxing faithful.

P4P Jones was considered the best but p4p lists are a tricky argument and what does it even mean in this context? That Jones had the right to NOT fight a worthy opponent?

So what if Jones already had a win over him? Tarver could have refused the 3rd Jones fight on that basis lmao. Or LaMotta would never fight Robinson again or Frazier/Ali II didn't need to happen. What does this statement even mean?
    Lol.

So let me get this straight:

Jones was more popular than Hopkins

Jones was rated higher than Hopkins

Jones held a win over Hopkins

Hence, Jones rightly demands 60-40. Do you have an issue with that?

of course he deserved 60/40...what did Jones have to gain beating Hopkins....a fighter he clearly beat

He would have made it competitive but Jones would have landed the cleaner shots
at that time 95-2001 is the best version of B Hop i think was the best MIDDLEWEIGHT of ALL-TIME

The Roycott? It was some silly idea on message boards back then by posters who disapproved of Roy not fighting top opponents so they boycotted his fights (even though they were on regular HBO) until he moved up and fought a Jirov or something. I wonder what they would think of GGG today.

              nope they wouldnt

I remember he used to get trashed by the commentary about his opponents

I used to collect ring magazine back in the day and in 2003 he held wins over like 7/8 out 10 of the top light heavyweight contenders...many went on to win titles after he beat them or held them before....Tarver, Clinton Woods, Lou del Valle, Montell Griffin, Eric Harding, Julio Gonzalez, Reggie Johnson, etc.

there werent any stars at 175, the only person in his era he could have fought that mattered was Dariusz Michaelcewski and that wasnt going to happen in Germany and I dont blame him.

Germany is one of the worst countries to fight in as a road warrior
it wasnt that he wasnt fighting anybody, he really made world class guys look inept and like nobodies
