Well seeing as how I don't personally work for Khan, I don't know what the exact figures they were being presented with are. What their split was, what the expected PPV sales in the UK were, what the realistic attendance number looked like and how all those numbers would compare to a Canelo fight in Vegas.

And since you don't work for Khan either, I doubt you have access to the real numbers. What we do know is that Khan chose to fight Canelo in pretty much his home turf over Brook for a reason. I doubt he took a tougher fight, in another fighters turf for half the price like you're suggesting.

What waste of time reading that was.

        Neither is true

The fight will be lucky to do any more than average PPV numbers and I'd be surprised if Khan walks away with much more than 50% of what he would have earned against Brook

As a guide to its success, most "experts" predicted that a Mayweather/Khan would do circa 800,000 buys

Unfortunately, Canelo is not in the same league as Floyd as an attraction whilst Khan has lost virtually all support at home via inactivity/his actions

Try as he might, it's going to be very difficult for Oscar to polish this turd
With the buzz created on Social Media and on all the forums with thread after thread and article after article the Turd is already getting Polished.

Plus In the words of Chris Eubank; "A fan base is overrated a dedicated Hatebase who want to see you get Knocked out is better."

De'Loya and his team of experts are predicting close to a Million...So we shall see.

0nly time will tell but Canelo v Cotto only did 900,000 buys and lets be serious Cotto by far was given a much better chance and is a much bigger name stateside.

It's mismatch because he has no way of winning and if your just going inside the ring just to earn money and knowing ur gonna get knocked out ...well a mismatch is when one fighter beats the other boxer in circumstance.....I'm sure if if canelo wanted to he could just bull rush like hagler over hearns and Khan wouild have nothing to keep him bulldozing him...so yes it's a mismatch

900,000 buys with hardly any marketing around the promotion...even in the week leading up to the fight there was a lack of buzz people on this forum were predicting numbers of 500,000 to 600,000.

With proper Marketing that fight would have exceeded the 900,000. Hell this has generated more buzz, argumentation, criticism, intrigue in the last two days then that fight did in the entire twelve weeks leading up to it.

But like you said only Time will tell...! Khan inadvertently and accidentally is like one man marketing machine...as long as he keeps talking and coming out with ****** stuff like he usually does his going to be inflaming passions and generating interest....!

I dont agree with your definition.

This is delusional Khan who genuinely thinks he can win and he is going to go in there believing he can win otherwise we would not be seeing this fight... Mismatch would be Danny Garcia against Rod Salka or Mike Tyson against Julius Francis a quick blow out of an overmatched fighter.

For the record I think it is a mismatch in the same way as Pacquaio Vs De La Hoya was seeing as a mismatch, personally I predict the above scenario a quick blow out...But there is an aura of unpredictability here unlike Garcia vs Salka.

But if like your predicting Khan puts in a great effort and lasts into the 8th round, like you predicted then I would give Khan massive props.

And that would reflect badly on Canelo...I dont see how the scenario you mentioned if it were to take place could still be classified as a mismatch.

Can't blame Khan for taking da fight. .imo he'll make Canelo look bad for a few rds till he gets caught by Mr 155 ..canelo has overrated power but it's khan ..he won't be able to handle it. .khan has no chances at a decision vs Canelo. .won't hurt him either...canelo and GB really look bad defending da MW title at 155 even worst vs a WW who done nothing to deserve a shot. .look desperate for ppv buys. .and scare to fight someone his own weight-class.. W or L this will help khan wen he moves back down for negotiations vs Brooks. .he will ask for a da split he wants n get it...specially if da Canelo fight does well on ppv. .

Yes i'd like to kill him or pull his toenails out or string him up by his eyebrows or....... so yes I know what you mean but proper marketing is one thing a proper fight is another , apart from this being at such a good time Latin weekend wise where a few mexicans pissed up on Sol may want to witness an assassination I can't see how this is going to be sold as a serious fight because let's face it there are better contenders out there at the weight .The main subject of conversation seems to be how long can Khan last , I'm not convinced that does a million buys given so many think it's a mismatch.

Whilst an evenly matched fight would appeal to hardcore fans this fight is not going to be sold to hardcore fans its for casuals...You have to bear in mind the Casuals are fairly dim they buy into the story that is sold to them. Majority of people buying the fight will be casuals.

Oscar in his recent interviews is already selling this as a David vs Goliath fight...He is already comparing to his fight with Manny Pacquaio, and Sugar ray Leonard moving up in weight to fight Marvin Hagler.

Casuals love the David vs Goliath type of stories...!

The story for the Mexicans will be of Canelo Alvarez defending Mexican pride
against the arrogant British Superstar...So for them this fight is going to be about honour standing up against the Britishers and their colonial arrogance
in this scenario the Mexican nation is going to be David and Britain the Goliath. Similar to when Barrera fought Naseem Hamed.

The Mexicans will as you see it will tune to see Canelo knockout victory...The rest will tune to see if Khan can achieve the impossible.
