It's a strange one but didn't Top Rank say they that HBO did not like Khan as a fighter yet have put him on PPV.

Should be interesting who gets this fight in the UK. Boxnation is better for the fight fans.

Don't think it will do better than the US though. Khan is a big name in the UK but people don't seem to get behind him.

Doubt it. I probably have a bit of a blind spot for the UK fandom but I'm pretty certain Cotto is a more popular fighter than Khan.

It would be really sad for the sport if this fight outsells cotto/canelo.

Cotto-Canelo did 900k? There's no way Canelo-Khan does more than that.

Now combined with UK numbers, the total PPV revenue will likely crush Cotto-Canelo. I think UK numbers will be very important for this fight. In the US, Mexican fans will buy this fight, and some other fans. I say 600k, and then in the UK it might do bigger numbers. If i'm not mistaken Froch vs Groves II did crazy PPV numbers, and Joshua-Whyte did 400k out of 200k target. So it appears that the boxing market is alive over there. Canelo vs Khan will do big business in UK. In the US i'm not too sure, 500-600k.

Okay I got the Froch-Groves 2 numbers, so it was 900k buys at $16.95 pounds. Lol that's a good selling point right there "I did 900,000 buys on PPV" but then it was like 18 dollars to buy

If Canelo vs Khan was $18 dollars in the US, forget it, that **** would sell like 5 million buys.

It won't outdo Canelo-Cotto. If it does half, it will be a success. There will be a backlash from the hardcore community that will keep the number below 500K. I'm expecting about 400K, which will more than serve its purpose. And that is to even further Canelo's already huge leverage in the GGG negotiations. It will also give Canelo a lil more leverage in negotiations with the Pac-Bradley winner. Which I have always believed was his #1 target for Sept.

CaneloCotto did more than most industry insiders expected? What a crock lol
900k is underwhelming for a high profile bout between fighters of CaneloCottos caliber..i was surprised by the#s, i expected it to do around 1.2-3mil but not below a mil..the fight marinated too long and the same is gonna happen with CaneloGGG too. CaneloKhan and GGGWade stalled that momentum. CaneloGGG on May 7th wouldve been a grandslam at the box office as both were coming off big wins...shouldve struck while the iron was hot. That fight was primed! now they risk loss of interest from the casuals. "Marinating" is a flawed concept in boxing and it kills fights. The fight almost never happen and by time they do happen its a time when theres less interest. Great model, HBO!
Bcuz Khan has been low profile the last few yrs this fight wont do 900k but the shock value of this matchup will add interest.
