I don't think it's so much that Roach is lying but more that he is mistaken. Why would Kovalev and Stevenson secretly be friends in an effort to hype a fight that is losing momentum and interest from the fans the longer it goes without being made?

I couldn't really make any sense out of the bulk of your post but what did Kovalev do that was so inexcusable and unforgivable? So he compared Stevenson to a gorilla. Big deal. It's not like he said all black people are gorillas. The way Stevenson was acting in the ring after the fight actually reinforces that he behaves like a primate. I don't think it has anything to do with race. Stevenson just acts barbaric and primal at times and happens to resemble a gorilla somewhat. Donald Trump also looks like an orangutan but being white doesn't have anything to do with that either.
