Arum isn't interested in growing the sport to a wider audience so he won't invest money into it. He relies solely on licensing fees. These companies aren't promoters in the traditional sense of the word. Promoters get out there and make it happen and are creative. Murad Muhammed said these promoters don't know how to create money. I know he had some financial issues but he was creative and always found different streams of revenues. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't and he took a loss. All promoters take a loss but for some reason Arum doesn't feel he should take a loss for the greater good of the sport and to grow the sport. But Haymon gets criticized for going out and finding new capital to invest in the sport to bring in a wider audience. It might work, it might not work, but all boxing fans should be rooting for boxing to gain a wider audience.Ratings never broke 400k viewers. Mainly hovered around 200k.

I dont get all the damn hype about network tv etc, we always had azteca, univision, telemundo, just put it on one of those channels. That sucks, I was genuinely enjoying most of them. They produced some good fights and it was interesting to see their prospects develop.
We got Nonito vs Juarez, Avalos vs Valdez, we got to see Felix Verdejo develop further, Saul Rodriguez, Gilberto Ramirez, a compelling fight in Tapia vs Soro.
Oh well, I hope they find a new home soon and they continue giving us some interesting cards.Comment

you do realize people dont hate the fact taht haymon is putting boxing on free tv right? its what he is trying to do with the PBC brand and turn that into a UFC type of platform where all his fighters only fight each other and hence we wont have a real worldwide sport anymore just a semblance of the sport. a league.Arum isn't interested in growing the sport to a wider audience so he won't invest money into it. Those shows you watch now and again but would never tell anyone. Especially the second one.
