Will Showtime even have a PPV card in 2016?

HBO already have 2 PPV cards. One in April & on the Cinco de Mayo weekend.

Do you think Showtime will even have a PPV card in 2016?

And who do you think will have the September PPV date?

    likely not

Wilder-Fury, to close out the year, is likely a PPV fight. Beyond that, I don't see a showdown this year that'd be big enough to warrant Showtime putting a fight on PPV (especially considering that they've been willing to support shows with $3m-$3.5m fighter payouts on Showtime Championship Boxing); Golovkin-Jacobs is likely a PPV fight, but HBO isn't gonna let that happen.

Depending on how things shake out, come 2017, the final 147 unification fight is likely going to be on PPV I'd imagine.

Beyond that, with Haymon's move to terrestrial TV (though I think Showtime/CBS ends up with the final deal anyway), the use of PPV will likely only be of need for really massive fights (Wilder-Joshua, ChavezJr-Alvarez, Mayweather returning, etc).

The days of PPV (asking the fans to reach into their pocket for that extra charge) being a regular thing are over, unless you rely on HBO for your boxing fix.

      Is Khan/Canelo PPV?
Do you want to pay for Bradley/Pac 3?

It depends. Lets see the purses for Thurman-Porter, which will not be ppv. If it is over $4Million combined, then it appears Al's guys don't (yet) need to go that route.

Garcia vs Broner could be a ppv fight but are those guys going to be ok with getting like 2.5 Million each? Otherwise the event would lose too much money because while it could be a success if it was scaled down on purses (like Golovkin vs Lemieux) it won't sell enough ppvs to support huge purses.

I sure hope not. PPV does not = great fight or great match up, in addition to being so 2000's ;-)

Seriously, I think the PPV will be only those mega Wrestlemania, Lollapalooza, Texas Jam type events. I think HBO is gonna be in for a bit of a surprise this year. Especially with today's technology, well, let's just say I'm not gonna pay for the fight.

Is PPV the only way to pay boxers big purses?

I would like to know how much of the total amount ia given to boxers and what is the profit for the network.
