He was 33 when he retired after the Dawson fight. He had a bit of a short career if you think about it. Yeah he fought 10 years, but only 27 fights, but I think he was pretty fresh, he never suffered any bad beatings and he had a good enough name and presence in the LHW division that he could have fought guys like Hopkins, Cloud, Celeverly, Campillo who were the top guys at the time. Diaconu himself was top 5, but with inactivity and eventually retirement he was dropped. But his last ranking before retirement was #5 in The Ring rankings. Which is kinda premature to leave your career at that. My point is he left when he still had more to offer. I think he was a young 33. What do you think?
