Comments Thread For: Martin Murray is Eager To Get George Groves in The Ring

Martin Murray called for a British battle with George Groves after watching his middleweight rival's stoppage win over Andrea Di Luisa.

The St Helens man kept a close eye on Groves during the latter's dominant fifth-round stoppage win over the Italian at the Copper Box Arena.

Both men have fallen short at world title level, but Murray is now targeting a big domestic fight in the super-middleweight division and has set his sights on Groves.

George did what he needed to do but looked to me as if he'd lost some zip, I wonder has Martin got the strength at super middle at this stage it seems a fair enough match up.

I'd take Murray via looking better these days than Groves at SMW.

This would be a very good match i think but i see murry taking groves out. His speed doesnt seem there anymore.

I don't see either of them taking each other out. Murray especially is not a big puncher. I see it as a close decision either way.

This is big crossroads fight, Groves should be a little more fresh at this stage and a win over Murray would cement his place as a top tier contender or even serve as some sort of eliminator. Think Groves should have another tune up before a fight like this though.

This is actually a good match-up for both guys if you think about it.

Great idea, and could be a great fight.
