Veteran boxing trainer Harold Volbrecht has lifted the lid on tawdry behaviour and says he is done for good with the wayward boxer.

Last week, promoter Rodney Berman was forced to pull the plug on the fighter's world title bout in Germany on account of him hitting the skids yet again. It's the latest in a catalogue of disasters surrounding Oosthuizen, with Volbrecht describing it as "a nightmare."

sounds like a Kelly Pavlik all over again

Oost and Pavlik seem like two drunks out of the same bottle who wasted careers. alcohol takes over lives of drunks and and soon it's over. sorry to see Oost go the Pavlik wasted life route via alcohol and getting into trouble. seems like the oost has no family for support and love. sad.

To be fair Pavlik actually accomplished a lot in his career. He was 31 when he decided to quit the sport for good which isn't too absurd.


Oost is like 26 years old so he's still got some time to get his **** together, although based on this article it sounds pretty bad.

Tommy is so gifted and could of been.one of South Africa's greats. What a waste his gotten himself to blame. Tommy you selfish individual and will always live with what could of been.

Tommy's done, I've been reading about him over the years and he continually degrades. People have tried so hard to get him right that they've only enabled him to continue his addictions.

Wonder if Braehmer will be willing to fight Kovalev now?

Yeah but Pavlik won the world title, his career would have been over anyway. He took way too many punches in every fight, he was going to get hurt if he keep fighting. He was going to fight Andre Ward, right before they fought, Manny got KO'd by JMM, Pavlik retired.

He was on HBO once I believe, and it was a horribly boring ass fight. What are we supposed to miss about him? His completely uneventful fight? Get out the way, Crawford, Thurman, Wilder, Fury, Gonzalez, GGG, Jacobs, Kovalev, Canelo, Spence, Lubin,....that's what I'm interested in.

Really a wasted talent, still young too. It's never too late to reform yourself but as a pro fighter it's getting there for him.
