LONDON- Former world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno wants to make a return to competitive boxing at the age of 54.

Bruno was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2003, an illness he says has left him feeling "suicidal." He has been involuntarily committed to psychiatric care on three occasions.

Ok this is now getting ridiculous...i'm starting to side with the age limit on boxing.

Bruno tweeted on his official account that his agent was informed by the British Boxing Board of Control that if he were to apply for a license it wouldn't be granted.

Frank Bruno is obviously dead broke and begging scraps

Bruno can't get any job without a broom or a mop involved and is dead broke. What UK doctor would even okay this broke misfit to enter a gym let alone a real pro ring. Audley vs Brono is a fair fight. Why can't some of the retired fighters just donate to Bruno or make Bruno their butler or personal valet??

LOL well he's still in shape but in Boxing that means jack sht. On the other hand I'd make Frank a 3-1 favorite over Charles Martin if they fought tomorrow so tough call. In England the age limits are even more strict though
