Neither of them. RJJ started at JMW and won a HW title, only fighter to do that in boxing history, it's not as big as a feat as RJJ to do it from LHW. Pulling an RJJ would be at the very least, coming from MW winning a title there, and winning a major HW title. So nobody. GGG is the best MW and he is afraid of moving up 8lbs. Michael Spinks went from LHW to HW and had a legit run at HW beating multiple top rated guys like Holmes and Cooney. That;s what these LHW's would have to mimic. They can't pull a RJJ, they're bigger than him.

It's also like saying, who at 140-147 can pull a Pacquiao and win a title at 154. Pacquiao came from 108lbs or something, that's not pulling a Pacquiao

I'd love to see Kovalev vs. Martin.

The only problem is if he came back down to cruiser or light heavy weight, the loss of mass might hurt his body and he wouldn't be the same again.

I've never seen Usyk fight, but BoxRec has him at all of 9-0 and, without a weight cut, I doubt he gets into 220lbs, physically. He has a chance, but fighting an athletic 250lb southpaw heavyweight is a lot

Martin isn't that bad. He is big and can punch some and has yet to lose a fight. I thought he was winning the fight in which he won the title even before the guy was injured. I voted that only Ward and Kovalev have the skills to beat this big boy. The idea that Khan with his famous weak chin would have the slightest chance of beating a big hard hitting heavyweight contender is absolutely absurd. Did you forget Khan's history going back to the amateurs. He has been knocked down and hurt often by 135 pounders. He was KOed by a low ranked lightweight Prescott and again by Garcia. Martin has fairly fast hands, a long reach and heavyweight power. Khan would not last a minute into the first round. Khan couldn't hurt Martin and he could run but he couldn't hide.

Lighten up bro. It's a joke. I agree its unfair to judge Martin based off the few rounds against Czar. I'm just really asking whether any of these smaller fighters can compete for a HW title now that the Wlad era has ended. Martin appears to be the most vulnerable titlist at the moment.

I dunno, Martin is such an unknown quantity. He shouldn't have been in a title fight in the first place, but thats not to say he's a bad fighter. We just don't know

Wilder on the other hand is a known quantity. He's a pretty vulnerable titleholder, which I could see some cruiserweights beating.

What I don't get is, the comparisons to Spinks etc. Did Spinks have to face 6ft5 240lb+ giants to get any title at HW? Not to forget, in his day the Heavyweights were the premier division. Sadly, thats long gone and instead, we have Wilder and an unknown Martin holding titles there..

Cooney was the same size as Martin.

Wilder gets by on physicality and I think his size, reach and athleticism is too much for a LHW to overcome. Plus, I can't see any of these guys being able to take his shots for very long.

Quite a few could beat John Ruiz , people hold on to the notion its the Tin that matters , its who you beat that counts .

John Ruiz was chosen for many reasons .
