Porter beat up the hated Broner and became a star

Thurman should beat Porter on points going away just by being a superior fighter. But Porter ending Broner's career was simply great. Port lost to Kell Brook in a disappointing loss. Thurman just is better. The fight should be Brook vs Thurman and that is the problem with boxing today. The best don't want to fight each other. Until forced to.

Thurman has power and Porter is also quite heavy handed, my interest here is if Keith can't get him out of there by midway how he copes with a swarming strong Porter.I'm not sure he's got the ability in close, looking forward to this one.

Porter actually made Broners career more interesting.now broner who wants to be #1 has to really fight his way to that spot. its going to be a great 2016 for PBC.

Maybe. Certainly Thurman won't want Porter bullying him round the ring, but I think he'll be content to fight on the back foot, look to counter big or step back and jab-right off of Porter's aggressive swings rather than try to push him back and end up with a potentially ugly inside battle that would likely favour Porter.

If KT can keep him at range with his length and basic boxing, I think he'll happily back up and use movement to take the rounds, like he did when he bored everyone vs Zaveck. But Porter is a lot tougher to handle than that, I think it'll be more like Thurman's approach vs Chaves, where he was letting Chaves lead and then blocking/slipping and returning fire with the sort of shots that break ribs and jaws. Just a personal view but if Thurman is able to stop Porter's bullying style, it's because he makes him respect his power/accuracy and stand off more, rather than because he has the style/skillset/strength to outbox him and keep him on the backfoot.

Thurman has the timing and power to beat Porter, it's just about whether or not he can find the space for his best shots because Porter, for an aggressive, sometimes wild fighter, doesn't leave that many openings. He's good at making it his kind of fight. Even against Brook, Porter was able to get inside, it's just that he was clinched and there was some spoiling when he got there. Against Thurman, there will likely to be less holding, I think Porter makes it his kind of fight and wins a decision that way.

Wrong game plan! Thurman needs to circle and keep it center ring. Porter will be the one moving forward the whole time.

Normally I'd agree, except that we know Porter is vulnerable to getting hit, and if someone like Broner can knock him down with one punch, Thurman has a great chance of hurting Porter. All Thurman has to do is go into come forward counter mode and I see it as an easy win.

I like Thurman versatility and him showing that he can work on this backfoot his last few fights but I would like to see Thurman get back to cracking and standing on his punches instead of skipping around the ring like he been doing since the Bundu fight. I think Thurman is most vulnerable off of his backfood which is why Collazo caught him with a great Body Shot

He is going to have to show a Inside Game vs Porter and he is going to have to show it early to make Porter think twice about coming inside. Still don't know about this match up, I see it 50/50 but I lean towards Thurman slightly
