HBO crew have become the biggest cheerleaders on tv today

Seriously its embarrassing ive been watching hbo since the early 90s and every now and then they would say some dumb ***** but now its just gotten out of control.

Lampley is coming off real petty now a days acting like a 12 yr old girl constantly bashing fighters from rival networks.

You dont hear that pettiness from the Showtime crew.

Hbo is so desperate to get one of these European fighters to hit it big that they have taken desperate measures.

They can try all they want but ggg, kovalev will never be the mega stars they are trying to force them to be.

Hbo already has the new cash cow in Canelo they might aswell just give up on guys that can't attract flies to *****.

Yep, there's no way around it - they are terrible. I'll still take HBO any day over Haymon garbage, but I would prefer a different set of commentators.

      Yes

Lampley should be the first to go.

          (1) Especially last night, I did think the dismissing of Stevenson (although probably warranted, since he really doesn't want Kov) was extremely unprofessional

          (2) Kovalev hasn't been marketed as effectively as GGG has been which is unfortunate because he's clearly every bit as good and in fact, probably better. However, that may change as more people start to take notice.

But saying that "Eastern Euros can't draw flies to ****" is obviously false though: Only Canelo pulls higher TV ratings than Golovkin on HBO and in terms of live gate, Golovkin is selling out the big arena at Madison Square Garden (~20,000 seats). There are highly skilled American fighters who struggle mightily to sell 10,000 seats in their hometown.

They need to give in and work with Al Haymon.

HBO Boxing schedule looks like ass. There isn't a fight till 2/27 Crawford/Lundy and Verdejo/Silva another set of mismatches. They are basically dead until the fall in which we us fans get thrown a bone like Koleav-Ward back in the 90's and early 2000's that fight would of gotten made in a heartbeat now they just marinate it more and more.....it's just a boxing fight for ****s sake.

Lampley is a legend, he aint going anywhere. He's following Larry's footsteps in terms of longevity.

It's Kellerman who needs to go. Everything about him is lame. He usually talks nonsense, slow and lame speech pattern, bad voice, punchable face, screws up every interview he does. Just an awkward weirdo who still doesn't belong there.

For the 10,000,000th time. There is no "ban"

Does no one actually remember when HBO (run by Hershman at the time, who is no longer running things) was MOCKED when they announced their "ban". It was seen as a way to save face when Schaefer had already moved ALMOST EVERY SINGLE fighter GBP/Haymon had over to Showtime.

People who knew what was going on LAUGHED at HBO, since they had spent a lot of time, money, and energy building up all these guys who Haymon had shipped over to Showtime (really screwing HBO), and HBO was kind of pathetically trying to pretend "we dumped Al Haymon, he didn't dump us," which was obviously false

                (1) The fact that HBO was cool with airing Kovalev-Stevenson on HBO PPV proves there is no "ban"

                (2) The fact that, by all indications, HBO is going to air GGG-Wade is additional proof that there is no "ban"

HBO commentary is only bad to you because they diss Stevenson who you seem to be in love with.

In reality their commentary is fine, sometimes they push their fighters two hard but guys like GGG, Kova, and Crawford deserve the cheerleading.

Your bias is showing. Did you conveniently forget Jim Gray pushing on Malignaggi to say that his fight with Broner was fixed? How about Malignaggi claiming Pacquiao took steroids without presenting any proof? How about all of the Showtime crew outside of Bernstein trying to belittle GGG by claiming Quillin's win over Jacobs is better than anything GGG has ever done?

Hate on HBO all you want, but don't act like Showtime is the pinnacle of sports commentary.
