I see Roman view Kono as the weakest champ. Maybe just so to test the water before unifying with other champs.

You're right, but I doubt he ever fights Estrada again or Inoue. He'll probably fight Carlos Cuadras and get his first official loss.

Would like to see Roman Gonzalez stay at 112lbs so he can fight Estrada, Ioka and Ruenroeng in 2016 then move up to 115lbs in 2017 and fight Cuadras, Kono and Inoue

Inoue would be the obviously preferable fight but IIRC Inoue said he needed a few more fights first. Plus both Gonzalez and Estrada seem to be interested in fighting again but not quite yet.. So with that, Kono seems to be (from my limited knowledge) a reasonable opponent from those remaining.

But hopefully we get Inoue or Estrada this year.

The first fight was competitive and very close. Estrada is good right now and has belts I believe.
