Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Interested in Kohei Kono Title Clash

WBC flyweight champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (44-0, 38KOs) is very motivated to win a fourth divisional title and he's received an open invitation to challenge 115-pound champion of the World Boxing Association, Kohei Kono (31-8-1, 13KOs) of Japan.

Fine by me. He needs to move up to fight Naoya Inoue anyway. Fight this guy in April, then Estrada late this year, then Inoue next year.

Does that mean no Segura? Great then.

I see Roman view Kono as the weakest champ. Maybe just so to test the water before unifying with other champs.

31-8 record, 35 year old title holder, not top 5 but still top 10. Sounds perfect, fits the bill for the #1 P4P fighter.

Nobody should be cosigning this cherry pick his last couple fights been like this won't rematch Estrada and picking weakest champ at 115 to fight and y'all call him p4p best at the moment?

Fantastic! I'm interested in seeing Chocolatito as often as he can find somebody to fight.

Yeah too bad Estrada doesn't want to fight him.
