Lol Ortiz would finally send you into retirement, Tony. Believe that.

This is every bit as bad as Quillin's stripper fight. I think the stripper was ranked higherAfter blocking that Ward fight a while back, I thought the commissions were going to do more to stop mismatches? This is going to be less competitive than when Quillin fought a stripper, and Ortiz is a bigger puncher than Quillin plus Dimitrenko is so bad he doesn't even have the footwork, co-ordination or conditioning to be a stripper.Comment

Thompson is a lot better than that other bum. That's for sure. Thompson could win. Dimitrenko has zero chance. Tony is funny and has balls, I'll give him that!Comment

Diminished his win. The small guy went 12 with Wladimir he couldn't.
Also why did he wait after they found an opponent to make all this noise.
I've never heard him call Ortiz before, never.
Ortiz not fighting top heavyweights will always be a mismatch including fighting Thompson or Ustinov.Comment

Haha I seriously doubt that, dude. Tony's a shell, and he was never as good as Ortiz on his best day.
According to ESPN's Dan Rafael: "Golden Boy Promotions offered the fight to several candidates, including Andy Ruiz, Andrey Fedosov, Carlos Takam, Alexander Ustinov and former world titleholder Bermane Stiverne, but was rebuffed time and again."
Luis is a dangerous man, and everyone knows it. I don't think he gives a shit who they put in front of him, least of all an old, washed-up "Tony the Tiger."Comment

ahahh Thompson is always a good read. Well, it looks like he is available, and it sounds like he only wants a couple hundred bucks and a few minutes notice..... so it shouldn't be too difficult to makeHeavyweight veteran Tony Thompson (40-6, 27KOs) is hungry to get a fight with WBA interim-champion Luis Ortiz (24-0, 21KOs). He was shocked to hear that Ortiz is going to fight Eastern Euro veteran Alexander Dimitrenko (38-2, 24KOs) on March 5th. Dimitrenko has won six in a row since getting knocked out by Kubrat Pulev in 2012, but most of those wins (if not all) came against low tier opposition.

Fine. Make the fight.
Certain fans will froth at the mouth and blow snot bubbles crying about how old he is, but they will emote even more strongly if (hopefully when) Ortiz even begins to be mentioned as an opponent for their man crush.Comment
