Comments Thread For: Thompson: Luis Ortiz is an HBO Hype Job, Looks Older Than Me

Heavyweight veteran Tony Thompson (40-6, 27KOs) is hungry to get a fight with WBA interim-champion Luis Ortiz (24-0, 21KOs). He was shocked to hear that Ortiz is going to fight Eastern Euro veteran Alexander Dimitrenko (38-2, 24KOs) on March 5th. Dimitrenko has won six in a row since getting knocked out by Kubrat Pulev in 2012, but most of those wins (if not all) came against low tier opposition.

I always enjoy this guy's interviews, would like to see him get a chance at commentating. He's declined in recent years, not the ideal opponent for Ortiz but far, far better than Dimitrenko.

Damn, Tony Thompson used to be good, but I think Ortiz knocks him out. It's true Ortiz does not look 36 lol. They probably both will be roided up to the gills if they ever fight.

Tony is right. Fighting Dimitrenko is a joke. The guy mostly had six and eight round fights for the last three years.

Toney sounds like he needs some money for his wife's hip surgery.

Didn't he get KO against Wladimir.
How he dare to call Jennings a bum, a guy who gave Wladimir a great fight and have never unlike him tasted the canvas before.

Ortiz has a very short window, but the guy has skills and if he stays active, he can do some damage in the heavyweight division..

His name definately deserves to be in the discussion of top heavyweights
