Stevenson's past nothing to do with why half these clowns around here don't like him. Kovalev is just the latest non-black fighter that these racist fux around here have gotten behind. And Stevenson is a black threat to him. Hell, they hate Andre Ward and dude and there's absolutely nothing to dislike about the guy. He's a GOD fearing family man with no criminal past. He was just a threat to GGG. And that's reason enough to hate him.

I wouldn't say half lol... the race baiters while present are definitely the minority and they exist on both sides of the fence to be fair and honest.

Most people like who they like and hate who they hate, It's sports.... you don't need a valid or personal reason to dislike a fighter or a team. That's why I don't get why people make those "Why don't you like this guy" threads. Some people just can't handle someone disliking their favourite fighter and some people can't stand others liking a fighter that they despise.

I like Ward, Floyd, Fury and others.... I read people post crap about them and sometimes I argue against it and sometimes I don't. I don't get worked up about it though, it's just differing opinions of other people.

No you moron race has nothing to do with it.
People dislike Stevenson because he walked away from several big fights.
Walked away from Kovalev in 2014.
Didn't make the Hopkins fight in late 2014.
Didn't make the Pascal fight, even though Pascal called him out.
He instead went on to fight no names, and that is why people turned on him and dislike him. Not because he's black but because he didn't give the fans the fights they wanted.

Same with Ward.
Showtime built up Bute, in order to guarantee Ward a big fight when he won the Supersix, he declined. Declined Froch fight in England, declined to move up in weight, and since beating Dawson in 2012, has ran his mouth, but only fought twice against crappy opposition.

These are the real reasons people dislike the two.
But being the racist you are, of course all you see is that these two men are black.

I think Kovalev is a better fighter than Stevenson. That said, when you put a guy as hittable as Kovalev in the ring with a monstrous puncher like Stevenson. There's always a chance for an upset. I also consider Stevenson a harder puncher than Kovalev. Kovalev has power in both hands while Stevenson's power is limitede to his left hand. That said, Stevenson's the harder puncher. So it would be curious to see how Kovalev would react to being in the ring with a bigger puncher than himself, probably for the first time. Would it affect his aggression? Very intereating fight.

Also, I don't see how people think Stevenson ducked Kovalev. Yeah, they had a "deal" in place. But he received a better offer and went to the money. Then there was the purse bid that Kovalev pulled out of. And now, folks are blaming Stevenson for asking for a joint promotion. What's wrong with that?

This right here. Their managers and handlers will advise these guys what is the most lucrative path to take.

This was very entertaining and Kov gave him the finger right there in front of him, that man gives no types of fu***. Adonis had better prepped a way to counter that jab or he's in for a world of hurt. Kov has so many ways to get to Stevenson without being in the danger zone of Stevenson's left. He could double feint low then jab down the pipe, stick jab double then shift and open with a right over the top, triple body jab then feint low and back step then comeback with a choppin hook, etc.
Doubt it happens but it would be an explosive fight that's guaranteed a Knockout.

Who is admiring him? I pointed out your inability to talk about boxing and instead bring up out of the ring things. Nobody on here is saying what Stevenson did in the past is admirable. I was saying perhaps you should talk about boxing and wanting to see this fight, instead of whining about something that happened years ago that you can't control. I agree. Everybody has a past... Convicted criminal or not. Hopkins did some time too (as well as others) and its rarely mentioned. Dude did a crime, did his time and now been giving the opportunity to succeed in life. I rather see Kovalev have a problem with it so he can deal with it in the ring. Hopefully the teams and the networks come together and make it happen.

I remember when I used to watch wrestling, sometimes they would televise the signing of a "fake" contract. Why can't they just come up with a standardized contract and televise it so we know who is ducking who?
