    Hatton: Sparring Update

My man says that Frankie 'El Gato' Figueroa (El Gato = Cat, in Spanish) was called in to spar with Ricky, fresh from the Bronx with trainer Maximo Pierret (Chris Eubank's former trainer!).

He's worked as a sparring partner for Gatti, Vivian Harris and Castillo in years gone by, but pulled out of working as Mayweather's sparring partner for the Judah fight because I think he was injured (recovered now, I assume).

They started with one set of three rounds in the morning, feeling eachother out. Before two sets of three rounds in the afternoon where 'El Gato' came into his own apparently, showing lots of foot speed and quick right jabs in getting the better of Hatton for the first three minutes.. until Hatton started finding his range and taking control with fast combo's to body and head and physical strength to boss him about.

Tomorrow it's expected to be real lively. The guy Figueroa will be staying with them for two weeks.

Sounds cool, wish I was there.

El Gato, Collazo, Cotto. If one doesnt get him, the other one will.
