I had a dream to about the fight....it was the worst fight of the year...mayweather mixing it up some ...stickin and movin most of the fight with hatton following him around all night like a good lil puppy....than they read the scores 117-111 on all cards.....than i saw people in the stands laughing at u and ur dream with ur face up on the jumbotron in the arena...lmaoooooooooooooooooooo
His fights with Burton and Chavez were FOTY stuff if they werent so onesided. The action was crazy good.
Hattons the same type of fighter as those guys. I think Mayweather will, after 2 or 3 rounds, be forced to fight off the ropes and it'll turn into an electric fightComment

Mayweather was a blur at 130 .. he blew people out. very fast on his feet and with the punches. he was the total package.
next to his run at 140 I would say 130 is his best string of fights .. Hernandez, Manfredy, and of course Corrales
would fighting off the ropes neccesaraly benefit Floyd fighting Hatton? cuz Hatton will go to the body ... then again Floyd will just counter him to the face.
im just wondering if fighting off the ropes, for long periods of time would benefit Floyd.
keep in mind, if against the ropes, Hatton could tie him up.
i just hope there's limited clinching .. it really is a bore to watch.Comment

I dreamed almost an entire fight out in my head last night and afterwards I'm convinced that Hatton-Mayweather is indeed a dream fight.
This fight simply put was amazing, putting megafights like DLH-Trinidad and DLH-Mosley to SHAME, ladies and gentlemen. It happened here in the States and when it was over, I scored it a draw 114-114, no knockdowns, no point deductions.
It played out much like Tarver-Jones I, with Tarver being Hatton, but Mayweather did so much better than Roy in that fight. After 6 rounds of Hatton trapping Mayweather and pounding the body, it's 4 rounds to Hatton, 2 to Mayweather. By the 8th round, however, Hatton is a bloody mess with cuts over both eyes due to some hard Mayweather lead right hands and left hooks to follow up, but not in danger of a stoppage. Mayweather is hurling vicious shots like you wouldn't believe to defend his p4p status, but all the while, Hatton is proving his own status among the world's top 3 by hanging in there and coming forward the whole 12 rounds. I'm torn on who to cheer for, admiring Hatton's courage and work ethic and crossing my fingers at Mayweather's prospects of being the greatest ever.
In the end, Mayweather gets a majority decision win, 115-113 twice and 114-114 (my score). The British, of course, feel Hatton won while the Americans say Mayweather won a close fight. Hatton gives Mayweather credit and makes no excuses, admitting PBF is maybe the greatest of all time. Both fighters up their stocks and hold no ill will to the other, acknowledging a great, great fight that probably went the right way. I woke up before any details of a rematch, but in this fight, Hatton did more damage to Mayweather than we've ever seen in any 2 fights combined.
I wanna see this fight now more than ever.
but yeah i really dont see how PBF will be at this much of a disadvantage as RJJ was that night. but very interesting post bro!Comment

But hatton doesnt clinch when his mans on the ropes. The reason he clinches is so that he can push his man or menuever his man back to the ropes where he goes to the work.
Mayweather could stop Hatton if he fights off the ropes, something i dont think he could do if its center ringComment

I had a dream Floyd just kept jabbing @ Hatton's face all night, using the jab as his defense and distance finder....I see everytime hatton coming in head hunting then Floyd popping him with his imfamous right counter uppercuts followed by his shoulder rolls...and I also see Hatton being smart trying to neutralize Floyd's known tactics.....I only dreamt til the 3rd doe only cuz the entrances were long as hell in the dream..Comment

Oh, by the way... no way does Hatton see the 11th round. Unless The Floyd chooses to carry him.
Hatton quits around 8 or 9.Comment

Why do you think Hatton will quit? Quitting, to me, is a voluntary function, and for an undefeated fighter, I can't imagine he is going to quit for some small reason.Comment

EXACTLY how the fight will go...
I know you've been saying this for a while, but I can't remember if I ever saw an explanation for it. In your scenario, is he cut? Down 7-1 or 8-0 and absorbing a decent amount of punishment? Exhausted?
Why do you think Hatton will quit? Quitting, to me, is a voluntary function, and for an undefeated fighter, I can't imagine he is going to quit for some small reason.
Round 1: Floyd comes out and stands in the middle of the ring. Fairly flat-footed. He is trying to gauge Hatton's strength and speed, and is tuning up his defense. Ricky is catious and throws less than usual. He has a good measure of respect for PBF's speed and counter-punching. He won't get reckless. Ricky was busier. Round 1 Hatton.
Rd 2: Ricky picks up the pace, and so does Floyd. Mayweather still isn't in form, and they fight a fairly busy but close round. Hatton eats some uppercuts and counter-rights. But RH is determined because he knows that he has to establish his fight. They may end up near/on the ropes. It is becoming clear now to Rick that he is not the stronger man in the ring. Close round. Either way. Probably Hatton on activity.
Rds 3/4: Mayweather is busier than in the first coupla rounds. He is landing consistently hard shots now, and blocking Hatton's increasingly wide shots. On some occasions, RH comes inside, clinches and tries to maul. PBF is retaliating by pushing off with the elbow/forearm, and the ref warns him. The first signs of wear appear on Rick's face. Rds 3/4 are Mayweather.
Rds 5/6/7: It is starting to get a bit ugly, and the outcome of the fight is clear now. Hatton, unable to muscle Floyd, and with a considerable skill/speed disadvantage, is getting hit too much. Ricky, being a gamer, rallies. But his face is starting to open badly, and he hasn't solved the puzzle of how to get to Floyd consistently. Perhaps RH takes one of these rounds, but this middle part of the fight is where FMJ really pulls away.
Rds 8/9: Very ugly. Very. At times, it looks "sixth-round-of-the-Gatti-fight-esque". Ricky, uncharacteristically, is fatiguing and his face is a mess. The ref and/or ring doctor has already taken a good look. Floyd puts his foot on the gas. He stays on the perimeter but is launching hard, straight stuff.
Hatton's corner, in a smart decision to preserve their fighter's health and psyche, elects not to send him out for round 10.
Mayweather TKO 9 Hatton.
Bet the farm.Comment
