  • Comments Thread For: Trainer Certain Kovalev Motivated, Focused For Pascal Rematch

Sergey Kovalev’s trainer doesn’t think his fighter has taken Jean Pascal lightly because he stopped Pascal in their mostly one-sided first fight.

In fact, John David Jackson expects a highly motivated Kovalev to tear through Pascal in even easier fashion during their light heavyweight championship rematch Saturday night at Bell Centre in Montreal (HBO).

Pascal can beat Kovalev this time

Look for an upset as Pascal finally fights smart for once rare as that may seem.

Kovalev needs to get Pascal out of there early. Jackson is right, Pascal is dangerous and the faster K gets him out of there the better.

Watching the fight again the other day, made me realise how well Pascal did in spurts, if he LISTENS to Roach, who knows, decision win? Doubt it, Kovalev in 6 for me but worth watching for sure.

Pascal has to conserve energy over 12 rounds.

Pascal can beat Kovalev if Pascal would attempt to fight wisely which for a Haitian is so hard to do. Think then blink for pascal. Thought not taught. DUH? blowing your wad in the first 4 rounds is dumb.

...so hard indeed, as not to show off with their typical dumb macho attitude...

In opinion, the only possibility to win for Pascal is to caught Kovalev by luckily using his awkwardness. It would be the upset of the year (at this moment)

Upsets happen all the time. Kovalev is not a polished fighter and is not great at all and is still crude and clumsy. beating a 50 yr old Hop isn't muich. Pascal can win this fight if smart and that might be a stretch.

Is anyone here wishing to bet some points on Pascal?

That's true that he's not flashy like Mayweather, Broner and others fighters who like to look pretty good on TV show, but you know he's an eastern european which means less of showing off or hip hop macho show or even outside looking ego...

May be this one-sided beating-up of Pascal will moderate your feeling.

Poor Pascal, except the sub-cultural hip-hop macho dumb show... nothing but the harsh reality
