  • So which is it? "Showtime Boxing on CBS Presented by PBC." Or PBC on CBS? Because neither is mentioned inside the press release. Got one header saying this even though it's 100% not a PBC On CBS event. That's not according to me but the quotes from showtime. Still nothing mentioning PBC will be producing it. Just mass confusion because PBC was supposed to have the fight alone then last minute couldnt afford it so showtime is airing it and still Dan has not reported this brand name "Showtime Boxing on CBS Presented by PBC." Anywhere but in passing on a chatroom where his next comment is blowing it off saying whatever that means. Sorry still waiting till a reliable source confirms what if any role PBC will play on this because all I see is showtime is producing it and it's labeled Showtime on CBS. That's what the press release says and that's all showtime has confirmed. And even Dan don't buy it or think it's reliable that's why he hasn't put it in any article or tweets like he does with boxing news. Just hearsay on a chat room.

The fight is coming up in one month we'll find out soon enough and if fight night PBC is part of the production I'll admit to it.

    • The highly anticipated 12-round showdown headlines a Premier Boxing Champions card from Mohegan Sun Casino Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut (CBS, 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT).

Dan Rafael, King Fight Freak (3:47 PM)

It is actually "Showtime Boxing on CBS Presented by PBC."

          • What it sounds like is Showtime is footing the bill for this card and adding PBC on the promotion for good measure. No different from when GBP use to hang a Mayweather promotions banner at his fights despite the fact that it wasn't even a legit promotional company at the time.

            • this should mean we get better fights for as long as the money lasts due to pressure from investors for better ratings

Some weeks they have big names like a wilder, danny, khan, thurman, etc and some weeks have guys like wade, spence, brant. As long as they had a weekly fight card and provided competitve matchups everytime, they could have grown an audience. They also should have started 4 man tournaments to crown their own champs, just like bellator did.. It would have gathered so much more excitement if they started off with thurman-Porter, then the next week garcia-khan 2, and then hype a title fight between the winners. Once champs are crowned, you can use the tournament to determine contenders.. Bellator executes this perfectly and has built them up into the 2nd most prestigious belts in the sport..

But the other sports have more than 1 channel.

The NBA has espn, abc, and tnt.

The NFL has fox, cbs, nbc, and espn.

The NFL/NBA fanbase *****s that of boxing by the millions.

I said it from day one. By PBC network hopping all over the place in addition to airing their fights on different days and at different time slots, it's going to be hard to build a consistent following.

They really only got 2 legit draws in manny and canelo. PBC faulters, I can see top rank and golden boy restocking their stables with some more name guys while their prospects develop
How would Top Rank or Golden Boy pay these "name guys"?

These guys are not being paid enough to be paid anything more than that. Even Garcia-Guerrero, each of them got 1.5 to 1.2 million. Some of the fights are landing on Showtime, CBS and those are paid with rights fees. Plus you have to factor in the ad money. They keep 100% of the ad money from those time buys and they seem to be securing more and more ads when you watch their shows.

That's not to say they won't go bust, but I think some people are exaggerating the facts to fit their agenda.
