Exactly Cotto did more riding on his bike then we have seen maybe ever. And the few times he stood and traded he was getting busted up. Roach never changed the gameplan even as he was losing a tactical boxing match because he didn't want Cotto to get put to sleep. That's why Roach and Cotto want no parts of a rematch. Because they either lose another UD if they come with the same gameplan or they switch up and have Cotto trade more which only opens Cotto up to get knocked out. If Cotto fought Canelo like he did Sergio, Geale, Delvin he would of been KO! And they know it.

        Cotto was outclassed.

        No need.

Cotto should focus on Marquez in Vegas

Finish up with smith in Miami.

Canelo needs to fight GGG or give up the belt

I generally agree with this, though I think you're overstating it a bit on the bike-riding issue.

If a rematch were to happen, Canelo would have more confidence in his ability to take Cotto's power and would fight more aggressively. He could get the KO...but he might also leave himself open to Cotto's power (if Cotto actually switched up the strategy and sat down on more of his punches this time around).

Cotto's been my favorite boxer of his generation and I'll always cheer for him, but he doesn't need a rematch. I don't think he can beat Canelo. Canelo's too strong...and he's got faster hands than Cotto too.

On a somewhat related note, props to Eddie for jabbing Freddie.

Pretty sure it had everything to do with the fact that Nelo was 170+ on fight night..

No clue exact weight canelo was on fight night but I do know for a fact Geale was heavier then canelo when he fought cotto. And cotto did not get on his bike for that fight. Point is whether it was canelo size or power cotto was scared to trade and was on his bike to avoid getting knocked out. Couldn't out box canelo and can't out slug him so he wants no part of a rematch. It's just a bad matchup for cotto.

Cotto is old, weak and shot. He can fight Marquez, he like Martinez is even older and coming off a bad knee injury and should be retired already. These are the opponents Cotto can beat. Crippled, old or weight drained.

Also that last phrase from Reynose "We are here to fight anyone".

Anyone except your mandatory GGG i guess?

Doubt it. I don't recall Cotto being visibly hurt in the first fight

This is the era of pointless rematches. Pac/Bradley, Kov/Pascal, Canelo/Cotto.

Really don't care to see a rematch for that fight.
