    Why 12 rounds of boxing?

    I know why it's not 15.
    But why 12?
Why not 13 or 11? Why not an odd number of rounds?

11 seems too short for a championship fight. I'm in favor of 13. I think it would be perfect, But 13 is considered an unlucky number. Many buildings don't even have a 13th floor. They skip from 12 to 14. SO if someone dies in the 13th round or something, it could be a really big deal.

12 rounds fit in the 60 minute time slots better, back when boxing was mainstream.

12 rounds seems fair and it's not an odd number

Why have an odd number it's not going to eliminate the possibility of a draw.

            Why do you think?

            For the controversy of course.

The IBF had a 13th round thing they were supposedly going to enforce for a while in the case of a draw, but I don't remember a single fight where they actually enforced this.

I agree all the way. Really, there was nothing wrong with the 15 round fight. Would love to see it come back.

Why not make boxing matches 7 - 5 minute rounds

My biggest issue is why are 147 pound fighters in 24x24 rings.

Put those little guys in 18x18 rings

I'm guessing because some fights deserve the possibility of the outcome to be even.
