What's with all this Wilder hate now?

I mean I wasn't a fan until he surprised me and beat Stiverne. I had bought in with what the NSB haters had said. When watching him before the WBC belt I admit, I didn't think much. Just before the fight with Stiverne I was talking to a friend of mine who was an ex-lightheavy in the amateurs and I parroted the NSB haters. He's on chicken legs, he windmills with no coordination, etc.

I was even so bold as to tell him "his" balance was better than Deontay's. His response was "Naw, Wilder's going places you'll see." I told him I didn't think so. He challenged me to a $10 bet. Damn Deontay! He proved me wrong! Been a fan ever since. Still will be after he loses.

What I see as a pro with Deontay, is that once he got the WBC crown he wants to improve his game and become a better champion. He got something that American heavyweights have trying to get for near a decade. Don't blame Haymon either for all the "haters." Chris Arreolla and Seth Mitchell were Haymon guys and didn't get the belt. He has talent. The only con I see is doesn't look polished. That might not beat Povetkin who is an Olympic gold medalist. Deontay still looks as if he's learning on the job.

I am not a wilder fan. I gave him credit for the Stivernne win but I think he has regressed since then. I think he has hurt his own development by fighting Molina and duhappas. I thought he was losing to SPplka when he scored the KO.

Maybe he will get better but right now, other than a punchers chance, I have a hard time thinking he can beat a top tier HWT.

You must not mistake "hate" for criticism. Personally I don't think he's all that good but we'll have to wait and see I suppose.

Anyone with half a brain knows Wilders got the goods, I guarantee you when Wilder punishes Povetcant (cant fight anyone over 6'5") NSB posters will be looking for UFC fighters or try to bring boxers back from the dead to beat him. People can say what they want about Wilders last fights but lets be real, he may not have looked "the GREATEST" but at the end of the day, he did what a good HW was supposed to do and KO'd the F outta his opponents. Ive seen lesser fighters go 12 with other champs they are supposed to KO and they dont get half the slack.

          Interesting.

What top tier heavyweights do you feel beat him?

I don't think there's hate for him here, I just think he is criticised and rightfully so. He got a lot of credit post Stiverne but really, since then he has done nothing and yet, he still managed to get so much hype following his recent KO win where he's supposed to beat Fury too.

I was impressed with what he did with STivernne but not with how he's followed it. I don't know that he can beat wlad, fury, povetkin, Ortiz and maybe the 2 young guys. When I watch him fight guys like Molina, duhappas and spilka (who is very awkward) and watch him get hit, not box smoothly, drop his hands I just can't see him beating a top tier HWT.

Maybe I am being over critical.
