which could lead to a bit of posing and staring cuz neither wants to get knocked out.

Of course Krusher Stevenson is the fan friendly fight. Ward is never exciting in the ring. Glad to see Kovalev krush both of these divas.

I see ward spoiling, nullifying and sucking the life out of the fight as much as he can on route to losing a ud
I agree. Ward has been overhyped by beating older European guys in their 30s on the decline...

He won't be able to clinch and impose his will on KOva and his chin is suspect.

Better fan fight, but Kovalev-Ward is one of the most important fights that can be made in the sport. One of the most important for years in fact.

Kudos to Kovalev for being a real fighter. A real fighter that actually wants to fight the best.

That said, as a Ward fan, I'm torn on this. I'm a fight fan first, so I could never be disappointed when a good fight is made. But as a Ward fan, I'm a lil worried that Kovalev may be beaten before Ward gets him. Or at the least get decked or struggle with Stevenson and has his aura somewhat cracked.

Stevenson isn't that good. But, he hits hard and Kovalev can be hit. So I'm just have to keep my fingers crossed that Kovalev lands first.

Ward, over hyped? Surely you're just a casual fan of boxing. Besides Taylor (who he didn't fight), who was on the decline when he won the Super Six tournament?

Stevenson is not enjoyable to watch, IMO.

even back in 2013 when stevenson got the nod for FOTY i was confident that kovalev would give him a one-sided beat down, and i'm even more sure of it now. i'd love to see the fight but i don't think it's a truly equal match-up, unlike kovalev-ward
