From the past, probably not distant past. I hate that there's so many different people involved in boxing now; used to be easy. There are two fights I'm looking for.
Fight 1
Here's what I recall:
Fight 2
Here's what I recall:
Fight 1
Here's what I recall:
- A fighter quit. Injury. Not sure what.
- George Foreman was on commentary (thus it had to be an HBO fight)
- Foreman went off about the quit. "You don't quit!" and mentioned how he and others fought through injuries
- Someone else (I believe Larry Merchant) was trying to justify the quit to Foreman, which just set him off more
Fight 2
Here's what I recall:
- Emanuel Steward was on commentary (Thus it had to be HBO)
- Harold Lederman was doing the unofficial scoring - so that means...what...2013 and older? And I recall them asking him for his thoughts. He had it a clear, wide decision for the other guy.
- fight went to the judges, fighter got robbed and it was a blatant robbery, and I remember Stewart saying, "that was a bad call".
- Steward was emotionally shaken up. In fact I think this is the fight where he barely stayed composed during the after fight with him and, I believe, Jim Lampley.
