Yes Amir, tests what happens when you load up punches and throw everything as hard as you can.

    You run out of breath.

Mansour lost; he has a bright future. Breazeale won. He does not have a bright future. He's slow. There are other guys with comparable 81" reach who will come in to the fight in shape. The 43 year old guy was in way better shape the whole fight excepting the almost completely severed tongue. And Breazeale didn't seem ready to continue either.

I had him way ahead until he couldn;t come out for the round. Tuff break. But, he'll be back. He's a huge crowd pleasing type of fighter!

I think your opinion would be Angelo Dundee didn't give a **** about Ali then too & I'm not saying thats the wrong opinion to have fwiw. Maybe Ali should have a L to Liston & would have been better served as a human in a rough f#cking sport to had his plea heard & accepted.

And I'm not saying its right as far as Mansour's trainer goes, but I understand what his mindset coulda been in the moment. In a competitive sport the desire to win & the risk to a fighters body is a thin line everyone walks, including the cornermen.

The point I was trying to make was you live to fight another day. Mansour was ahead on the cards but the fight was at the halfway mark. He had a long way to go. Now he'll be able to recover from his injuries and come back strong.
I didn't dog Mansour for quitting at all & 100% on board with you here. He clearly seemed to have a jaw issue to me & if you wanna fight with a messed up jaw fair enough you'll get toughness points from me & many fans, but I won't take toughness points from a guy with a messed up jaw or other issues that are legit reasons to stop a fight.

Exactly. The man is a warrior and I love to watch him fight, but he was - as usual - swinging for the moon all night, and missing a large proportion of those punches.

I was rooting for Mansour even though it was the first time I'd watched him. Something about guys like Mansour who are hungry, just make them instantly likeable. I've never seen anyone go for a win like that since Bert Cooper. Sad really, but I have a feeling he'll be back, 43 isn't too old when you consider he doesn't have a lot of mileage and is extremely hungry. I enjoyed watching this guy go for broke, a thousand times more entertaining than recent HW bouts.

Breazle was getting his ass kicked, but those uppercuts and spots here and there took his competitor out of it.

I'd like a rematch, not because I think it's an injustice, but I think it'd be interesting. But I don't see it coming.

Breazle won the fight fair and square. I didn't expect him to and he was losing the fight at the time of the stoppage, but he won by legitimate TKO.

It was a slightly bizarre ending to a fight.

Let's just hope Mansour is okay and that he'll be back strong.

I'm pretty damn sure we'll see him again.

The tongue injury just shows how important it is to get a mouth guard that fits properly. That should have never happened to him.
