Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Confident He Would Put Anthony Joshua To Sleep

I don't know if Fury would put Josh to sleep. That sounds like typical Tyson hyperbole to me. But there's no doubt he'd box his ears off to the point where Josh might well crumble mentally and quit on his stool. Josh is still ridiculously untested, and looked to have major flaws in his last fight which Fury would punish him for. Josh needs to beat a Chisora or Takam before we start talking about how he'd do against the heavyweight champion of the world. In fact he'd need to beat Wlad or, failing that, Wilder or Haye. He's simply not on Fury's level at the moment.Comment

I really hope Joshua faces chisora next because I guarantee you Joshua puts chisora to sleep inside 6 rounds.....hopefully the EBU will order the fight between them and it looks pretty likely to happen....then when he does win convincingly I wonder what the fury fans are gonna say next.....he doesn't have to beat a klitchko wilder or Haye to prove he's on furys level......we don't even know what's furys level is yet the klitchko fight yet as it was horrible ugly fight....fury still needs to prove his level because one fight against an old man proves nothing really...almost got put to sleep lol...took a shot **** on his chin from an 18 stone puncher re gained his composure and then blitzed whyteI don't know if Fury would put Josh to sleep. There's no doubt. He's a freaking prospect, that alone settles it. Even if he wasn't, Fury is all wrong for AJ.Last November, Tyson Fury (25-0, 18KOs) pulled off the upset of the year when he boxed his way to a twelve round unanimous decision win over heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf, Germany. The victory gave Fury the WBO/WBA/IBO/IBF heavyweight titles.

I think Haye would be a more difficult fight for Joshua than fury.....Haye is quicker he comes in low, throws quick explosive combinations and if has kept most of his ability then it's a tough night for any heavyweight including Joshua ....I believe Haye made a mistake against klitchko by showing him to much respect and if he had jumped on him earlier then things could well have been different...we already saw what sanders and Brewster did to klitchko by jumping on him and Hayes best option would of been that ..Haye has or had world class timing...I've always considered Haye a really special talent and the thing that messed up his career was himself managing it.....Khan has done the same thing with his career ....Ii think Joshua would have a much easier time with fury in my opinionComment

Why would we say anything critical? The point I was making, since you appeared to miss it, was that Joshua needs to fight these types of guys before talking about Fury, not that he wouldn't beat them in the first place. Chisora's a solid measuring stick and would go a long way to legitimatising Joshua if he wins. He'd still be a long way from Fury, but there'd at least be some substance to his top ten positioning.I really hope Joshua faces chisora next because I guarantee you Joshua puts chisora to sleep inside 6 rounds.....hopefully the EBU will order the fight between them and it looks pretty likely to happen....then when he does win convincingly I wonder what the fury fans are gonna say next.....he doesn't have to beat a klitchko wilder or Haye to prove he's on furys level......
We know exactly what Fury's level is, since the manner in which he beat Wlad was as emphatic as you could get, regardless of how entertaining you found the fight. There were no lucky punches, no blown knees, no fight ending cuts. Fury systematically outboxed one of the most dominant heavyweight champions of the last ten years round after round after round. Maybe Wlad got old overnight, who knows? But until we see how Wlad performs in the rematch and subsequent fights, the result has to stand on its own merits.we don't even know what's furys level is yet the klitchko fight yet as it was horrible ugly fight....fury still needs to prove his level because one fight against an old man proves nothing really...almost got put to sleep lol...took a shot **** on his chin from an 18 stone puncher re gained his composure and then blitzed whyte
Not sure what you're saying with that last line. Fury took a shot **** on the chin from a far more experienced fighter in Cunningham then blitzed him as well. Being able to come back from being hurt is the hallmark of a great fighter since, at least in the heavyweight division, even one shot can end things for the night. Joshua showed decent composure for which I commend him, but he's not as battle tested as Fury by a long chalk and shouldn't be favoured over him at present.Comment
