I'm interested in seeing how Byrd turns out as a trainer. His mom & dad were trainers and he's had his whole life dedicated to the sport. Also moving to Las Vegas should get him access to some quality fighters.

I think he do well, I remember him telling stories about how he was rained.

And one of the times he mentioned how his father purposely made him spar and train in very small rings, or basements.

He said it forced him to learn how to move, so I went and found a gym with the smallest ring I could find. It was tiny, and sure enough I learned how to make the most of the space I had, especially defensively.

Normal sized rings felt huge after that.

Is he the son of the trainer? If so did he decide he didn't want to have his dad yelling "I'MA STOP IT!" all the time and that's why he's not being trained by his dad?

Anyway, As far as Jean Pascal, just ONCE I want him to ring enter with Keith Sweat's "I Want Her" playing. Just one time.

Nope. Just happens to be a Diaz Jr in boxing where there are some Diaz's who train boxers.

Big fan of Diaz since I saw the Guy Robb fight live a couple years ago. For sure a future title holder & player in the division. And yea co-sign him getting more TV time. His promoter issues for the last couple years have really hurt his progress, but he's young enough that all that bs will be a footnote on his career in a couple years.

It's rare to see a Hispanic fighter being trained by a slick black guy. Interesting pairing.
