This guy should consider himself very lucky. Apparently he has Haymon's backing, so who knows how the judging would have turned out. But I've seen too many questionable decisions in favor of Main Events fighters, particularly the top echelon. With the HW belt at stake, there was surely some "transactions" going on, on both sides
. Haymon is the "A side" promoter in this instance, so Martin may have been on the "right" side of the judging here. But there are many times when Main Events is the bully, and the "B-side" promoter or manager gets jobbed. Just how it is
...
I'm not discrediting Kovalev. He's the one true legitimate Main Events fighter. He gets KO's, not decisions, so there's no questions there. But then there's a Glazcov or Adamek, who "won" fights against "B-side" promoted fighters that they clearly lost. I think Martin was safe here, but who knows who the judges were aligned with on THAT night.Comment

Uh...this is the exact same article I just found on another (inferior) boxing site...wtf? Did one get stolen from the other, does the writer work for both sites?....Brand new IBF Heavyweight Champion "Prince" Charles Martin (23-0-1, 21 KOs) should be on cloud nine.
In just his seventh year of boxing and slightly over third as a professional, Martin already finds himself the sixth southpaw to have ever won a heavyweight championship after scoring a TKO 3 over Ukrainian top contender Vyacheslav Glazkov last Saturday night, January 16, at the Barclay's Center in New York

Honestly how the hell is this guy IBF champion? The guy is bloody awful, unbelievably slow, no footwork to speak of and honestly looks like he is fresh out off a few white collar fights with no amateur experience at all did he start boxing like two years ago or something? I'm surprised David Haye isn't all over him for a fight. Offer him a million or two and get him to the O2 Knock him out in 2 or 3 rounds and he's got himself a title again.Comment
