Comments Thread For: Amir Mansour Aims To Create Excitement in Changing Division

By Thomas Gerbasi - For the first time in a long time, the heavyweight championship has owned the headlines in the boxing world. Whether it's Tyson Fury’s upset of Wladimir Klitschko, Charles Martin entering the race as the new IBF champion, or Deontay Wilder’s power putting a spirited effort from Artur Szpilka to rest, the sport’s glamour division isn’t back where it used to be, but it’s getting there.

I love this guy's attitude and passion to the sport. Very crowd pleasing style too. His fight with Cunningham was a modern day mini-classic, and his knockout of Kassi after down on the cards was one of the most brutal turnarounds I've seen in a long while.

Put this guy in more competitive fights. He brings it every time and isn't afraid to fight anyone. More guys with Mansour's attitude are what the division needs. Shame he's too old now to really make much of an impact.

always great to see someone turn their life around and take it in a positive direction like Mansour has. The guy did his time and his efforts are truly admirable.

It would be great to see the guy land a big money fight or even grab a belt. Would be a true cinderalla story.

Mansour is actually the reason I'm thinking of getting a ticket to tomorrow's show.

          mistake

You do realize that he got a DRAW in his last fight, not a loss. Please correct this article.

Mansour fought a guy similar in size with more strength and better fundamentals in Gerald Washington. Mansour started slow, had a hard time getting in his range but figured it out by the end and got a draw. I think he picks up where he left off with Washington and finds a way into his real estate earlier in this fight. Mansour is an underdog and I bet on him with decent odds, parlayed with the favorites. Will probably take my winnings and let it ride on New England -3, but that's discussion for another forum.

If you go back and look at some of Mansour's fights, he did get tired and sloppy a few times, but one thing he has is power. And his boxing seems to be improving. Breazeale better be ready, or Amir takes his head off early. And I'm sure Mansour will be throwing bombs from the start. The guy KOd Kassi, whom most saw as the winner vs Breazeale. This will be probably the most interesting fight of the weekend.

Yeah, I mean styles make fights, but you have wonder about Breazeale just escaping Kassi, while Mansour KILLED him . I was like, wow, that was the KO of 2014! Mansour took his head off...he's not getting up...he's not moving...medical staff...oxygen mask...did I just see Mansour murder somebody on national TV ?! It took them 4-5 minutes to revive Kassi. Kassi resurfaced to fight Nightmare Chris Arreola, and it was like I had seen a ghost . I thought Mansour had killed that man. It might show the mentality and killer instinct of these two. I don't think Breazeale is ready for this...

I like his fights too. Seems like his age is a gift and curse; he fights with a purpose since he knows his time in the game is fleeting.

Yeah i bet on Mansour too. Mansour did have problems to close the distance on washington in the first half of the fight, but keep in mind that washington was very defensive minded, had decent foot movement and really didnt want to engage with mansour.
Breazeale on the other hand doesnt know how to box going backwards, he just plods forward with his slow ass hands and hopes to knock the other guy out. His defense is atrocious, Kassi couldnt miss and would have sparked him out, if he had more power.
I cant even see them robbing mansour, because he puts his punches together well and breazeales head will bounce around giving the judges no room to give the round to breazeale.
