      • About Time -

Thank you for explaining why you believe Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight. I may even agree with you, but it's still simply our opinions. Who is the "best" is simply not a matter of fact, it's a matter of opinion.

So while you continue to refer to me as a "kid" despite being a grown ass man with nearly 20 years experience working in this industry, you fail to grasp the simple difference between a "fact" and an "opinion," something that is taught in grade school.

So if anybody sounds like a clueless kid in this discussion, it's probably the person that doesn't understand the difference between a fact and an opinion.

15 pages in, and the following remains indisputable fact:

The IBF had no choice but to strip Tyson Fury.

You've yet to suggest an alternative that wouldn't have resulted in serious court sanctions.

I've pointed out over and over that it's actually Kovalev ducking Stevenson, not the other way around like so many here mistakenly believe, so I'm not sure why you'd think I am pro-Duva.

15 pages deep and you've failed to mention a single alternative that the IBF had that wouldn't have resulted in a massive lawsuit they would have surely lost.

Plenty of insults and childish comments from you & About Time, but neither one of you has suggested a viable alternative to the course of action the IBF took.

            I know I know, rules doe/lawsuits doe/contracts doe/etc etc.

I get it. Facts aren't cool. Facts aren't fun. Fanboys just want to have fantasy discussions in a protective bubble where reality doesn't ruin their fan fiction.

So by all means, go ahead and pretend I'm Kathy Duva, all of your posts in this thread have been make believe anyway.

Have a nice sit-down with Glazkov, and explain 2 things to him, both are facts that you seem to have missed.....

              1) the landscape at heavyweight has completely changed since Fury beat Klitschko. They have a contracted rematch, which will obviously happen next. Because Tyson Fury managed to upset a highly favored long-term champion, we need to respect BOTH fighters and honor this rematch. We cannot strip Fury at this point, because it is almost certain that Fury/Klitschko are the 2 best heavyweights on the planet. You will have your shot at the champion next

              2) You are not among the top heavyweights on the planet, and will be highly unlikely to land another title shot unless you exhibit some patience, and some respect, for two guys who have BOTH paid their dues, unlike you..... it is plainly obvious why we need to wait for the result of the rematch, that was a huge upset which remodeled the heavyweight division, and we are adapting accordingly. You will face the winner NEXT. We apologise for any inconvenience/confusion, but we do realize that you are a professional who understands and respects the sport of boxing.

              How about that genius ?

              common - fkn - sense

They could have also offered Fury the chance to pay Glazkov a step-aside fee.

                • Thank you for the fanboy fantasy fan-fiction.

Unfortunately, in reality, what you're suggesting was impossible.

Glazkov's promoter informed the IBF that they were unwilling to participate in negotiations and requested an immediate purse bid.

Glazkov was not interested in a step aside fee and even if he was, IBF rules don't allow it.

You're failing to realize that Glazkov's legal rights guaranteed him the next title shot and there was nothing the IBF could do unless they wanted to end up in court, where they would surely lose.

You clearly haven't followed the sport very long, but in the 25+ years I've closely followed the sport, there have been numerous court injunctions, in the heavyweight division alone, to enforce mandatory rights.

The IBF had no choice but to strip Tyson Fury.

Your suggested "alternative" was for them to pillow talk Glazkov and try to get him to relinquish his rights. However, in reality, he aggressively enforced his rights, which left the IBF with no choice but to strip Tyson Fury.

I know you don't like rules, or laws, or facts, or logic, but this was an open and shut case.

But I'll play along . . . in your fanboy fantasy fan-fiction fairy tale, what happens when Glazkov says no?
