He's in a very similar position to Maidana back in 2012 now. He was getting thrashed by everyone but by 2014 he was pushing Floyd to the limit. Matthysse is more skilled than Maidana but he doesn't have the pressure fighter's mindset that made Maidana so effective.
He can still have another run but it's probably last chance saloon for him now. Like Maidana against Broner, next time Matthysse is in a big fight he has to win it.
Agreed. If he were to lose in a headlining card again he may have to give up on his lofty boxing aspirations.
