Comments Thread For: Charles Martin Will Have One Year To Make IBF Mandatory

Newly crowned IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin will have a year to make a mandatory defense.

Charles picked up the vacant title last Saturday night in Brooklyn. He stopped Czar Glazkov in three rounds.

Tyson Fury captured the title when he upset Wladimir Klitshcko with a twelve round unanimous decision last November in Dusseldorf, Germany.

According to GGG fanboy logic, unification trumps everything. So Wilder should ask Provetkin to step aside so he can fight Martin, right.

He can do that , Deontay Wilder could avoid Alexander Povetkin to unify world heavyweight titles... Unification overrules Mandatory

This good for Martin now he can beatup guys like Artur Szpilka, Steve Cunningham, Derek Chisora, Chris Arreola, Eric Molina, Malik Scott, Fres Oquendo before he gets in there with a real challenger

Which I said in the first place.
Strip the camp (Fury) and give it to Wilder -- so he doesn't have to fight Fury or Klitschko for the IBF strap. This is the Haymon fanboy logic.

IBF usually strictly followed their own rules. This time it's like they give the HW strap to Wilder in a mesmerising move.

Listening to Sirus Radio and the song ain't no one stopping us now came on and reminded me of The Larry Holmes entrance song what joke Heavyweight boxing has become Champions fighting bums rather than top 5 Contenders like back in the day

Martin's a joke of a champ. There's no chance Haymon will let him go anywhere near a live body for at least 3 years. The IBF mando is gonna be some 15th rated contender.

If I were betting, I'd say his next opponent will be Cunningham.
