Comments Thread For: Brook vs. Bizier Formally Announced, March 26 in Sheffield

Last week, Kell Brook and Kevin Bizier saw their teams work out a deal to avoid their mandatory welterweight title fight going to a purse bid hearing. Now, they officially have a date and venue.

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, Brook will enjoy a homecoming in defending his International Boxing Federation (IBF) title on March 26 at Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, England. Bizier’s team – including promoter Yvon Michel – agreed to terms on January 11, one day before a scheduled purse bid hearing that was eventually canceled.

That's the asking price for the tickets at this time (that's a lot of $'s). I wouldn't pay that for this show. I mean, it's not like Sylvester Stallone is going to be in the audience. The money team might send a rep for a Spence offer, but Floyd isn't going. You have to be a Brook fan, a big Brook fan, to pay that for this. If they go the Canelo rout and stack the undercard, then maybe, but I don't see a stack yet.

I'm a big Brook fan but it will soon be 2 years since he fought a live opponent when winning the title against Porter in Aug 2014. I mean the guy has lost to Jo Jo Dan, who looks like garbage against Brook. Drop the strap and take some meaningful fights because this is starting to look very similar to Joe Calzaghe's early years as a World Champ. So maybe by comparison we can expect him to take on Errol Spence in a unification fight in around 2021.

Jo Jo dan didn't have a legitimate loss in his career. the first aydin fight dan won at least 9 rounds and the score cards took about 15 minutes to be added up. they had to do a rematch since it was such an obvious robbery.

Bizier knocked out the IBF number 1.
Brook deserves more credits for beating these guys than people want to give him.

Kell Brook is the 1-D rated champ at 147lbs or 4th

Kell Brook is the 147lb 1-D rated champ which means the 4th rated with an IBF belt that means nothing. Brook ain't no frickin champ of nuthin. Get it? Brooks is a pansy waist dainty perfumed fruit that's it.
