Another possible reason Wladimir looked so horrible vs Fury.

There has always been whispers of Wladimir using steroids. Vitali has admitted steroid use as an amateur and tested positive. Wladimir has never been tested outside the normal testing required by the sanctioning organizations. In December of 2014 Germany passed a strict anti-PED law that could land users in prison. I found it su****ious that Wladimir would choose to fight his next fight in New York rather than Germany. Wladimir returned to Germany this year to fight Fury and looked absolutely horrible. Yes I know Fury's style played some part in Wladimir looking horrible. But that version of Wladimir looked like he'd aged 10 years overnight.

I hate accusing people of steroid use if they haven't tested positive but Wlad's history has always made people su****ious. He doesn't hide the fact he refuses to do any additional testing. Hopefully Fury puts strict testing in place for their rematch.

    Welcome to the real world.

Tell you what, most athletes today are on some type of enhancing performance anyway.

I don't believe any pro athlete in today's world are 100% clean (depending on what sport also, as you know boxing has and will always be corrupt). It would be impossible to perform at a high level.

        Styles make fights

The underlying truth in all boxing matches.

Wlad held just out of Furys range and was unable to make his own offence work...whilst Fury could just outpoint him by mere inches. Wlad's only success was with counters.

The only other option Wlad had was to get slightly closer however he'd risk himself in doing so for that opportunity

and inside fighting? well you can forget about that with Wlad & Fury...Wlad can't do it.

I think we'll see the same thing second time around the only difference is Wlad will be focusing on straights to the body and take the risks he didn't take in the first fight....

Hadn't heard about the Germany rule that could land you in prison for PED usage. That is an interesting nugget of information.

As with all PED talk its always easy to claim usage by ANYONE with how loose the requirements are in boxing (& most sports) so while it can raise an eyebrow for sure along with the poor performance its a highly speculative fun little thing to talk about at best.

Why cast aspersions on someone never even close to testing positive?

And others say wlad looked so **** against jennings because there were stricter testing in new york..
Wladimir has aged, he looked the same against jenning at time as against fury at times, he can't pull the trigger, he even described it in post fight interviews that he can't react at the right time, that's why he punched stat was low.
wladimir has declined, he is 40 Years old..
If he hires someone like memo heredia for s/c and good trainer he may have a few fights winning left in him

Age catches up quick with boxers that relay on natural physical gifts as wladimir, size, strenght, speed and power.
His defence are his fast footwork, when the feets starts slowing down you better have a chin to rely on like b-hop and you have to learn to use all your experience, ring savy and not rely on the power.
Like Vitali after coming back from retirement, he didn't punch as hard as before but he started to box on the back foot and easy outbox his oppenents a lot more, and he said himself, using his experience to adapt.
Is just insain that a so powerful puncher as wladimir never commits to the body and hardly ever throw body punches.
He should study kovalev's jab to body and straight right to the chest/stomach.
And with a so powerful left hook, he should use it on the liver.
