How the heck did Holyfield Tyson, TWICE?

Evander was older. He looked done after the Rid**** Bowe match. Tyson though rusty was beating guys to a pulp after his come back. Sure, the fighters weren't from the same ilk but he looked springy in comparison.


Holyfield-Tyson I

From the highlights and all, Mike looked a bit sluggish. Not sure if he didn't take this match up seriously. Around round 8, you can tell he was gassed and Holyfield took the victory.


Holyfield-Tyson II

Mike IMO was a bit quicker in the feet, but get this. Freaking Evander was in even better form. He was noticeably stronger too. There's just something wrong in that picture.


Was Evander on PEDS?

Prime holyfield, and past prime holyfield was nearly indestructible, he didn't fear tyson, and was the one guy to bully mike..

Tyson couldn't fight moving backwards. Holyfield pushed him around.

Also, Holyfield was the first fighter to take Mike's best shot and smile at him. Holyfield was better.

Great gameplan, ring know-how, chin and determination. Holyfield was a better fighter, prime for prime too.

Holyfield was just the better of the two, at that point in their careers anyway. He was sharper and multidimensional, Tyson fell in love with his power and would look for the KO in his fights. Tyson just doesn't have the ability to outbox Holyfield. If this was the 1992 Holyfield that lost to Bowe (when he was significantly smaller) then Tyson would have been able to impose his physicality on him. But at this point they were about the same size.

One point not yet made, was that by the time Tyson fought Evander he was a stationary target. Prime Tyson would set up his power with great head movement, but once he started to believe his own hype he stopped doing what made him great and became an easy target for a guy like Holyfield.
