I think Haye is back for money - the guy is obviously broke.

I dunno about that Jackanory fella beating him but Haye is obviously back for the money. He seems to have blown it and is looking for a quick cash grab via AJ. In reality, the AJ fight does nothing for him beyond the finances, because if he wins, he beat a prospect, if he loses, he lost to a prospect. A career oriented Haye would not be looking at AJ.

Joshua is close from being mandatory for the WBC, WBO and IBF. If Haye wins to Joshua, he could jump into a title fight easily.

Yeah, but rising up the alphabet rankings is all about money, AJ himself would tell you he is a minimum of 18 months away from even contemplating a world title shot. Haye is a solid 2 years away and I know he looked impressive but he was fighting a nobody. He needs to get in the ring with some tough opponents and heavyweight has changed drastically in the last 3 years, I don't see him slotting back into the upper echelons easily.

Plus, having followed a lot of Haye's career, in fact, most of it, he isn't looking to rebuild a career in this come back, he is looking for the quick buck, which he'll find against AJ, or a Chisora rematch or a fight with Wilder.

Haye is back because boxing is what he does best. He's been a boxer since he was a kid, it's part of his identity. Difficult to just walk away from the sport when you're still young and feel you can still compete at the highest level.
