Angel Garcia on Thurman-Porter: Why fight each other when they could fight a Salka?

"I don't know why they're calling each other out, they're both elite fighters"

This gives you all the insight you need into some of Danny Garcia's matchmaking since Khan. Angel will only put him in a tough 50/50 when its absolutely necessary and can't be avoided.

Danny got money, but not experience.

Porter, Brook, and Thurman would tee off on the kid.

I'd say Danny has far more experience with higher level fighters than any of those guys you mentioned. Zab, old Morales, Khan, Matthysse, Peterson, Holt, Herrera, and soon to be Guerrero. His resume craps all over those guys, which makes Angel's comments seem more bizarre since Danny had it rough coming up.

This mindset is prevalent throughout boxing and is the biggest reason why no one gives a flying **** about it anymore. This is what happens when you flood the market with ridiculous amounts of money for glorified showcase fights. You lose all hunger and there's zero incentive to take any risky fights.

That's this era in boxing tho. Competitive fights won't happen until they absolutely have to.

That's all you really need to know coming from the father of one of Haymon's top fighters.

Lord have mercy..... boxing is not in a good place when a trainer can openly make comments like this, makes we wonder who Danny will fight after Guerrero *cringes*
