I don't think Parker has much amateur experience. Some of his early opponents were horrific local fighters. Also they matched him tough against Botha(who thrashed Sonny Bill Williams) early in his career, he also fought Minto early too. Some guys need 20 pro fights before they fight this level of opponent.

So Barry probably has slowed down his level of ascent because they feel he will rise up in the rankings too quickly before he his mentally and physically ready to take on a pick em type opponent.

      Let's get facts right Earl.Parker is 6foot 4 inches ,239 pounds.That is big man.
      Joshua 2 inches taller.
His point difference is his hand speed, punch output, punch selection, stamina.
Parker can put out 100 punches a round for 12 rounds. No one can live with that.
Check out www.stuff.co.nz Sport section, other sport.Under the headline:

You will see for yourself the pure speed and power of this future champion.

Joe, you need to spend more time training and less time posting on boxingscene

And totally outclassed him, for every minute of every round.

The Izonritei fight was a sign of things to come for Tua, who was limited.

Barry is right, Parker has much more to his game than Tua did.
Yeah God forbid the trainer point the finger at himself. Trainers are like Jesus in that religion crap. When things work out, it was God. When things dont, you screwed up and deserved it. Humans.

Dude was scary. Trained next to him in Vegas for about 5 weeks but we never talked. Saw him one day during that time in the outlet mall and gave him the "I recognize you" nod. He just walked towards me with a look on his face like I had just told him to go eff his mother. I'm taller than him but about 80 pounds lighter. When he got close I told him we trained together. He just shook my hand like he never saw me in his life and walked away. Awesome fighter though. Definitely one of the best of that era. Belts are toilet paper.

I think you have a point but you do know its common knowledge that at Tua's training camps they used to have to put a padlock on the fridge at night and the dude still had friends and relatives delivering him fast food at night through the side entrance, LOL.

He carries a bit too much bodyfat for me, he'd naturaly be about 225-230 if he was lean.

And the funny thing is because his opponents are all so short it makes him look big but i did a size comparrison using Dillian Whyte and Brian Minto and Parker is actually a LOT smaller than Joshua, a LOT. I was surprised as i thought it was quite close, but no, joshua dwarfs him, he's the same height as whyte but a lot smaller in dimension

C'mon dude have you seen Parker lately? He's shredded. Maybe not Joshua pharmaceutical shredded but shredded.

Just turned 24, they have already sent some big money offers to some of the usual suspects mentioned, but all have turned him down. I think there is a good chance within the next 2-3 fights they will get a 'name' though. They seem confident, let's see.

I agree, was saying the same thing the other day talking with friends.

He will struggle with the monsters, but he will be more prepared/capable than Tua was.
