Comments Thread For: Marquez Would Want Rehydration Clause in Cotto Fight

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) would not rule out the possibility of a fight with Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33KOs), also a former four division world champion, if the right terms were in place.

That's it. Fight is scrapped. "Miguel Cotto does only what is best for Miguel Cotto and his family". LOL.

Good. This is an absurd fight anyhow! A SMW vs a blown up LWW.

JMM laying down the rules for Miss Cotto. I don't think Cotto can make 147lbs, especially if you restrict how much he can rehydrate afterwards. Good, this fight should never get made.

Cotto would fight another guy with bad knees. At least he wont make them come down in weight this time.

157-160 is the average weight day of for a welterweight lol.

I thought his cap would be 160

Yeah totally flabbergasted that this is actually being taken into consideration. Cotto is so ****** lol.

However as a fan of this sport, I'd LOVE to see this match up. I've said it before, this fight has always been like a modem day fantasy match up for me. I mean if they were naturally the same in size and weight, this is a pick em' fight. And even with the weight difference and age gap and wear and tear that both men have, with a catch weight and and cap on rehydration, I don't see why It wouldn't be competive.

Perhaps I'm underestimating Cotto's weight/size/strength a bit. I'm just really convinced Marquez can out box him and survive if they were closer in size/weight.

I'm thoroughly convinced that Cotto uses your tongue as toilet paper!
